The Puzzle Shop

Here is a selection of puzzles in our shop that are complete or are in development.  As you will see I like to fine existing devices, sometimes vintage devices and turn them into an interesting puzzle. I do all the electronics, programming and crafting.

If you have an idea that you would like to develop but don know how to make it happen I may be able to help there. This is my specialty. I have a large CnC router table, 3D printer, small CnC router/laser (for PCB’s) a formidable wood shop and some metal shop items. purchase and/or can be commissioned.

Prices are base only, customization, tax  and shipping fees are not included.

Random Light Puzzle
This PCB gets wired to 8 pushbuttons and 8 lights. The player has to figure out the pattern with no clues. Press the right button and the matching light turns on and stays on. Then the next, and the next, till you have all 8 lights on, but press the wrong button (or do nothing fo 3 min) and they all turn off and you have to start all over again. Lay this out in your room how ever you like. This puzzle is requires a 12VDC source, 8 input momentary contact push buttons and 8 12VDC LED lights. The PCB has test buttons and LED’s on the board so the game can be played/tested stand-alone.

Telegraph Clue
This is a self contained puzzle that requires a 12VDC source. When a person presses the key and they can’t resist, the sounder starts tapping our a Morris code message. That message is a clue to a lock. It is actually tapping our Morris code but since virtually no one could or would understand Morris code the clue is series of dots making a numerical answer. The sounder will tap out the clue, pause, tap it again, pause and the tap it out one more time then it will go back to sleep until the key is presses again. The electronics for this are in a separate box not shown here.

Touch Tone Pay Phone Combination puzzle
This self contained puzzle needs a 12VDC power source and is build from vintage actual pay phone. Lift the receiver, insert a quarter, and listen for a dial tone. Yes, you must these steps. Then dial the correct 7 digit phone number and a signal is sent to release a lock. Fail to put a quarter in the slot, get an error message. Dial the wrong number get an error message and the quarter is returned. This puzzle is still being developed and thus their is room to customize for your needs.

Rotary Phone combination lock
This self contained puzzle needs a 12VDC power source and is build from vintage rotary telephone. Lift the receiver and listen for a dial tone. Yes, you must do that step. Then dial the correct 7 digit phone number and the lock opens. i.e., the drawer in the table pops open when the mag lock is released. This puzzle can be customized to use any 7 digit number and can release a mag lock or be alter to trip an solenoid lock. (table not included)

Cathedral Radio Clue
The on/off knob is a part to find and is a key. Once found, the player fits it into the keyway of the radio. When complete the radio will play a single song in a loop. The song is the clue. This is a self contained puzzle that needs to be plugged into a 110VAC outlet or could be provide with a 5VDC course. The music is customizable.

Frankenstein (knife) switch Puzzle
What would you like this to do? Sky is the limit. The base of this is 1″ think slate, quite heavy and sturdy with copper strips and switches.
