Escape the Gold Rush

Want an idea of what we do? Here’s a look at our most recent room: designed, built, and run by the Shipwreck Entertainment crew from start to finish. In partnership with the Sacramento History Museum, the “Escape the Sacramento Gold Rush” adventure ran a four-week limited engagement in Old Sacramento. This joint venture acted as a fundraiser to support the museum’s important work bringing history to life for school children and adults.

Escape the Gold Rush was an early west themed room with historical content salted through the experience. You find yourself in the the 1850’s with gambling, wanted posters, telegraph keys, and more throughout the room….or is there two rooms? And how do you get back to your current time. I love the “ah-ha” moments so several are designed into the room. We played this with the game master as a costumed character in the room and various costume items for the players to enjoy.

The adventure was set in a 1850s Gold Rush era hotel saloon and gambling parlor, packed with mind-bending twists and turns. Successful adventurers had to be sure to keep a weather eye out.  As any Sacramentian will tell you, little is what it seems among the scalawags and soiled doves. Teams found themselves at the height of the Gold Rush with disaster about to strike! They had a one-hour time limit to solve the puzzles or be doomed to repeat the past!

Although these games were captivating and tantalizing, the “Escape the Sacramento Gold Rush” experiences were also family-friendly.

Each experience accommodated a range of two to ten players and lasted up to one hour (depending on how long it took the group to solve the various riddles). “Escape the Sacramento Gold Rush” had an escape rate of 45% with over 50 teams giving it their best.

Did you “Escape the Sacramento Gold Rush” just in time? Or did you end up so close?
